The food pantry of Zaltbommel near the thrift store is a pretty big free food pantry.

NL In Zaltbommel is in hetzelfde pand als de kringloopwinkel een voedselkast opgezet. Het is wel even zoeken naar de juiste plek, je moet aardig wat gangen door. Ik vond de kast wel goed gevuld. Een goed initiatief voor de hulpbehoevenden.

De voedselkast is voor iedereen. Wie iets nodig heeft kan er iets uit pakken, wie iets over heeft kan er iets in achterlaten. Het idee is ontstaan doordat het leven alsmaar duurder wordt en veel mensen moeite hebben om rond te komen. Iedereen die iets nodig heeft, mag er iets uit pakken. De voedselkast is gevuld met van alles en nog wat, zoals: blikken soep, koeken, potjes groente, macaroni en andere levensmiddelen.

De kast staat er niet alleen om er spulletjes uit te halen, maar zeker ook om producten in te zetten. Mensen die (houdbare) producten hebben, die ze zelf niet meer gebruiken, kunnen deze in de voedselkast plaatsen. “Zo wordt geven en ontvangen één”. Op de kast hangt een gebruiksaanwijzing waarop goed te zien is hoe het systeem werkt.

De voedselkast is iedere dinsdagochtend en vrijdagochtend geopend tussen 09:00 - 13:00 uur. Locatie: Pand 9, verdieping 1, tegenover lokaal 107. Pand 9 bevindt zich aan de Van Heemstraweg 9 in Zaltbommel.

De voedselkast is mede mogelijk gemaakt door het burgerinitiatief van Manuela van Ingen van ‘De Helpende Handjes’, Buurtteam Zaltbommel, Brandwijk Kerstpakketten, De Kringloop, Autohopper ACB Zaltbommel. Meer informatie is verkrijgbaar bij het Buurtteam via 06-12985819.

ENG In Zaltbommel, a food cupboard has been set up in the same building as the thrift store. It is a bit of a search for the right place, you have to go through quite a few corridors. I thought the box was well stocked. A good initiative for the needy.

The food pantry is for everyone. Those who need something can take something out, those who have something left can leave something in it. The idea arose because life is becoming more and more expensive and many people are struggling to make ends meet. Anyone who needs something can take something out. The food cupboard is filled with anything and everything, such as: cans of soup, biscuits, jars of vegetables, macaroni and other foodstuffs.

The cabinet is not only there to take things out, but also to use products. People who have (perishable) products that they no longer use themselves can place them in the food cupboard. “Thus giving and receiving become one”. There is a user manual on the cabinet that clearly shows how the system works.

The food cabinet is open every Tuesday morning and Friday morning between 09:00 and 13:00. Location: Building 9, floor 1, opposite room 107. Building 9 is located at Van Heemstraweg 9 in Zaltbommel.
