Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim is Norway's most important church. It is considered both as Norway's national shrine and as a coronation church. The church was built 1150-1300 and significantly rebuilt between 1869-1983.
Nidaros Cathedral in Trondheim is a building with many interesting details such as gargoyles, stained glass windows and various doors. The "Rose Window" in Nidaros Cathedral is a very beautiful window in many colors. It is called the "Nidaros rose" and measures in height 12 m and is 8 m in diameter. A Sami Altar can be seen inside. It was inaugurated on 6 February 2017, the 100th anniversary of the Sami's first national meeting in Trondheim.
