The author of the reconstruction carried out in the 16th century was the architect from Salamanca, Martín Navarro. The construction was started by the head and it was designed in such a way that it has two apses in it. In this way the resulting ship was wide. Pedro del Casar and Diego de la Trecha were in charge of raising the forero walls and the western portal. Garcia de Luzaga from Zamora was the one who solved the closure of the great bay. In the 18th century, the architect Ventura Vicente finished off the work, giving it the shape it has in the 21st century.
