Pulpit & sounding board in St John's church, St John's in the Vale.

There are records of a chapel on this site from 1554, although the present building dates largely from 1845, but incorporates parts of an older church.

Many of the furnishings came from Crosthwaite church in 1893, and the pulpit and sounding board are from another church, also brought here in 1893.

It consists of plain-panelled sides, set upon an octagonal stone base.
