The building is the location of Tucker Lodge #297, chartered in 1867. It was named after Phillip Tucker, a prominent Galveston businessman who served the Confederate army during the Civil War. He was a past Grand Master of Texas, and also past Master of Harmony Lodge #6, also on Galveston Island.
Tucker Lodge #297 is chartered through the Grand Lodge of Texas, AF&AM, which in turn, is recognized by the United Grand Lodge of England.
Meetings are second and fourth Wednesdays at 1900.
