At the most famous excavations at Delphi, Greece there is a huge
commemorative, marble stone to remember the excavations. The French inscription reads:

Les fouilles de Delphes ont été concédées
a la France en vertu d'une convention votée
par les chambres francaises
sur la proposition de M. Leon Bourgeois
ministre de l' instruction publique
les 16 février et 3 mars 1891
et par le parlement hellénique
le 28 février / 7 mars 1891
M. Th. Delyannis etant president du conseil
elles ont été exécutees
aux frais du gouvernement francais par
M. Homolle directeur de l'école fraincaise
avece la collaboration de M.M.
