The Brownville Park located just north of Arcadia, Florida along the banks of the Peace River is a day use park with a boat ramp and a small campground. Near the bank of the river by the boat ramp is a covered flora and fauna sign providing information about the area. With emphasis on the watershed and floodplain which the visitor is standing in, one can understand how the geography around the area is effected by the changing water levels due to droughts and the summer rainy season.
Also included are photographs of birds, wildlife, plants, reptiles and insects that can be seen in the area. There are two nature/hiking trails nearby. A short trail to the south which meanders along the river and a larger trail to the north which traverses a much broader and diversified area of the 75 acre park.
This park and its nature/hiking trails are part of the Great Florida Birding and Wildlife Trail network.
A day use fee of $2.00 is charged to use the park. Parking is adjacent to the boat ramp. There are picnic tables and restrooms with showers available. Park is open from sunrise to sunset.
