ES: "Entre los años 1877-79 en ingeniero don José María de Sancha fue el encargado de proveer a la ciudad de una serie de fuentes, en unos casos de abastecimiento y en otros ornamentales. Esta Ninfa fue adquirida para el Jardín de la Victoria, donde permaneció hasta 1922 en que fue trasladada al Parque, con el deseo de embellecer este espacio urbano y a la vez preservar la figura. Se instaló en una glorieta que se articula en torno a una fuente de azulejos de forma octogonal, que en principio tuvo en el centro un pedestal octogonal de piedra con rocalla del que manaban chorros de agua.
Aquí permaneció la figura hasta que en la década de 1970 fue destrozada por actos vandálicos y hubo de ser retirada, permaneciendo en un almacén hasta que recientemente ha sido restaurada, rehaciéndosele la cabeza y otras piezas por medio de fotografías antiguas. Respecto al vaso de la fuente propiamente dicho su zona central también fue adaptada, en este caso para sustentar la figura de El Biznaguero obra de Jaime Fernández Pimentel colocada a fines de la década de 1980 cuando por la construcción de un aparcamiento subterráneo se remodeló la Plaza de la Marina, lugar de su ubicación inicial. Dicha adaptación consistió en la creación de un montículo de rocalla, ya sin las placas de piedra, por donde resbalaban mansamente pequeños chorros de agua.
La figura de la Ninfa de la Caracola fue adquirida a la fundición de A. Durenne de Sommevoire en Francia, al igual que la Fuente de las Tres Gracias y la Ninfa del Cántaro. La Ninfa está representada como una joven sentada sobre una roca cubierta de hojas, semidesnuda y sujetando sobre su hombro una caracola por la que se vierte el agua. El juego de las superficies desnudas de su cuerpo y las zonas cubiertas por el manto resulta sumamente elegante, mientras que la actitud y la pose de la muchacha inciden en señalar su juventud, resultando una composición muy adecuada a una fuente a la vez que de claras reminiscencias clásicas. La escultura es de hierro fundido patinado en color bronce.
Con la restauración del Parque de Málaga realizada en este año, se ha podido recuperar la Glorieta de la Ninfa de la Caracola con su fuente en la que de nuevo se ha vuelto a modificar la rocalla, volviendo a su estado primitivo, con un bloque de piedra de forma octogonal y rocalla pequeña en las aristas, los bordes superiores y la base, quedando parte de ella sumergida. El borde del pilón octogonal ha vuelto a recuperar los azulejos en tonos blancos y negros al igual que la cenefa de guijarros y la de azulejos características de esta fuente. La figura de El Biznaguero ha sido trasladada a los Jardines de Pedro Luis Alonso, en un entorno muy adecuado para ella."
