Bridge Street is on the route between the harbor and the major attractions in Kirkwall: the St. Magnus Cathedral, the Bishop's Palace and the Earl's Palaces. Many cruise visitors follow this route, so it's a popular photo stop. It's also one of the northernmost red telephone boxes in the UK. The K6 style red telephone box was designed in 1935 for the Silver Jubilee of George V. It was widely distributed throughout the UK.
