[EN] Next to the Villacastín church is this monument with an iron stork located on top of a granite monolith about four meters high.

“It has an important relevance, not only because of what this bird represents in our legends, nor because of its singular beauty, but also because it was, at the time, the only monument dedicated to the stork in our country.

This monument was created in 1988 by the Villacastín workshop school in homage to the Black Stork for its presence in our fields. The stones were cut in the Fuente Pedraza quarry belonging to the Prados Quemada brothers, its author being the painter and sculptor Rafael de la Concepción.”
