The yomeimon is a gate guarded by a pair of zuijin and marking the entrance to the heart of the shrine. It is one of the finest examples of this type of portal in all of Japan dating from 1636 and listed as a national treasure since 1902. Deep relief wood carvings, rich color paintings and gold leaf, decorate the surface of the structure. It reopened after four years of restoration work on March 10, 2017.
