Ponte della Cortesia is in the San Marco district, between Calle della Cortesia and Campo Manin. It is a bridge over the Rio de San Luca canal. It is a beautiful stone bridge, its structure is brick and stone, iron fence with diamonds and circles, supported by Istrian stone pillars. On two sides of the bridge, in the center of the arch, there is a 19th century coat of arms with a child or Fauno (an ancient Italic divinity), and two marble slabs with the inscription "DO. MDCCCXLIII" and "AERE CÍVICO". It is named after the adjacent Calle, which is a natural extension of Calle della Mandola, after the Rio degli Assassini landfill that divided the two pedestrian streets. In that place, in the old neighborhood of Sant'Angelo in San Paterniano, there was in 1712 a famous inn with restaurant and rooms run by Franco Benoni. Among all these rooms was the Courtesy Room rented to the noble lords Zorzi and Morosini. Even the newspaper Minerva Veneta from the year 1785 points to the inn as a sample of Courtesy as one of the best in Venice. At the foot of the street bridge is the entrance to the house of Daniele Manin, the great Venetian patriot to whom the monument in the homonymous square was dedicated.
