De Gereformeerde kerk te Noorden is ontstaan in 1890, toen een deel van de leden van de Hervormde Gemeente te Noorden zich afsplitste uit zorg voor het kerkelijk leven. Dit viel samen met een landelijke beweging die bekend is onder de naam “Doleantie” (Dr. Abraham Kuyper speelde een belangrijke rol hierbij). In later jaren, toen zowel de meeste kerkleden als het kerkgebouw in Woerdense Verlaat er waren, is de naam veranderd in Gereformeerde kerk te Woerdense Verlaat.< p> Het huidige kerkgebouw is het derde van onze gemeente en staat er sinds 1964. Nog steeds wonen de meeste leden in Woerdense Verlaat, maar ook komen zij uit de omliggende plaatsen.

The Reformed Church in North came into being in 1890, when part of the members of the Reformed Church in North split off out of concern for church life. This coincided with a national movement known as “Doleantie” (Dr. Abraham Kuyper played an important role in this). In later years, when most of the church members as well as the church building in Woerdense Verlaat were there, the name was changed to Reformed Church in Woerdense Verlaat.< p> The current church building is the third of our congregation and has been there since 1964. Most members still live in Woerdense Verlaat, but they also come from the surrounding places.
