Monturque has commemorated International Museum Day , which was celebrated this past Thursday, with the reopening of its local museum after the improvement works to which it has been subjected over the last two months.
The works have been aimed at eradicating a serious humidity problem that this cultural space suffered from and that even affected the patrimonial assets, of incalculable value, that it guards and exhibits inside. In addition, the intervention has made possible the total replacement of the flooring and the electricity system with an investment of 42,000 euros coming exclusively from municipal funds.
On the occasion of the reopening, activities for all audiences have been organized by the Tourism area of ??the Monturque City Council.
The improvements made to the museum continue and its outdoor area is undergoing adaptation work throughout its surroundings through the Program for the Promotion of Agricultural Employment -Profea-.
The works that are being carried out in the outdoor area consist of the lining of its perimeter wall and the improvement of accessibility by building new benches and a staircase, as well as installing lighting and new pavement.
