This grand opening plaque is located inside the Royal Tyrell Museum in Drumheller, at the entrance to the Naylor Hall. It commemorates the contributions of its longtime director, Dr. Bruce Naylor.

The plaque reads as follows:

His memory will live on within the walls of the institution he so inspired.

Dedicated by the Honourable Hector Goudreau,
Minister of Tourism, Parks, Recreation and Culture,
on June 19, 2007

From Wikipedia, some information on the Hon. Hector Goudreau: (visit link)

"Hector George Joseph Goudreau ECA (born October 11, 1950) is a politician from Alberta, Canada. He is originally from the francophone area of Beaumont, Alberta, located just south of Edmonton's metro population.

Hector is a former member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta, having been elected for 2 terms as an MLA for the Progressive Conservatives. In the 2004 Alberta general election Hector narrowly hung on to his seat defeating Dale Lueken from the Alberta Alliance Party in one of the closest election battles outside of the Edmonton region.

On December 15, 2006, Hector Goudreau became Minister of Tourism, Parks, Recreation and Culture under newly elected Premier Ed Stelmach. After the election of 2008, Goudreau was named the Minister of Employment and Immigration. After Alison Redford became Premier in October 2011, Goudreau was shuffled out of Cabinet in his role as Minister of Municipal Affairs and replaced by fellow PC MLA Doug Griffiths.

Goudreau has three daughters: Micheline, Monique and Melanie. He lives in Falher with his wife Angeline.

Controversy
In March 2012, Hector Goudreau received criticism after CBC News obtained a letter written by Goudreau warning a northern Alberta school division that it could lose further funding if it continued publicizing their school funding problems. Goudreau sent subsequent letters to the school division apologizing and later stepped down from his position as chair of the Cabinet Policy Committee on Community Development."

"BRUCE G. NAYLOR, Ph.D.
1950-2007

It is with great sadness that the family of Dr. Bruce Gordon Naylor announce his passing at home early April 6th, 2007 after a brief illness. Bruce will be dearly missed by his wife Judy, sons John (10) and Connor (8), mother Mary Lynn (Cliff) Rederburg, his brothers Scott (Kerri), Kent (Sharon), Jay (Sandy) and their families. Bruce was predeceased by his first wife Marlene in 1992 and his father John in 1987. Bruce was born in Midale, Saskatchewan in August 1950. The eldest of four boys, Bruce always had a thirst for knowledge and was a passionate reader of military and natural history. From a young age Bruce enjoyed creating with his hands and particularly loved working with wood and leather. Earning his BSc. with high honours from the University of Saskatchewan in 1972, Bruce went on to complete his PhD in Zoology in 1978 at the University of Alberta. Bruce's crowning professional achievement was his position as Director of the Royal Tyrrell Museum of Palaeontology which he held from 1992 until his death. Prior to this his list of professional accomplishments included Senator, Univ. of Calgary 1989-90; NSERC post-doct. fellowship, Univ. of Toronto 1978-80; Sess.. Lectr., Univ. of Calif., Berkley1979; Asst. Prof. & NSERC Rsch. Fellow, Univ. of Alta. 1980-82; Curator of Vertebrate Paleontology, Tyrrell Museum 1982-86; Asst. Dir., Royal Tyrrell Museum 1986-92. Of all of Bruce's accomplishments none were as dear to him as were his boys, whom he treasured with all his heart. Living with his family on his dream property, family walks, gardening, and many pets all contributed to a life well lived. The family is eternally grateful to the compassionate staff at the Mayo Clinic, in Rochester, Minnesota, who were able to provide Bruce with a diagnosis and help him face his illness with dignity. A celebration of Bruce's life will be held at the Royal Tyrrell Museum at 2:00 pm on April 30th, 2007."
