LE FUSILIER MARIN DE BERCK A RETROUVE SA STÈLE ...ET LA NOUVELLE PLACE DE L'ENTONNOIR...

Le Fusilier marin a retrouvé sa stèle sur la nouvelle place de l’Entonnoir. Ce militaire représente est un fusilier marin de la guerre de 1870.
Il a subi un relooking complet de la part des services techniques de la ville, notamment sous les pinceaux du jeune retraité Bruno Décamps.
Cet artiste qui est un Ami d’Hom.arts de la première heure ( musicien, chanteur, acteur, danseur, créateur de figurines, metteur en scène…) est habitué aux figurines de 10cm de hauteur et même moins.
Là, il a réussi à redonner l’expression du visage de cette "figurine" de plus d’un mètre de hauteur !

Berck sur mer est l’une des rares villes de France à avoir comme monument aux morts un fusilier marin.

Cette statue est l’ œuvre du sculpteur français Aristide Croisy (1840-1899).

Ce monument commémoratif des Berckois morts durant la guerre 1870-1871 a été élevé par souscription à l’initiative du Souvenir Français, puis inauguré le 24 Août 1913.

Selon les archives municipales, il s’agit d’une copie conforme d’un des personnages de la base du monument inauguré en 1885 au Mans et dédié au général Chanzy qui commandait à la deuxième armée de la Loire.
La même statue existe à Quimper, en Bretagne.

Là, il veut aussi symboliser l’héroïsme des marins de l’amiral Ronarc’h, né à Quimper en 1865, qui ont défendu Dixmude sur le front belge en septembre-octobre 1914.

The Fusilier marin has found its stele on the new Place de l'Entonnoir. This soldier represents a marine fusilier from the 1870 war.
It has undergone a complete makeover by the town's technical services, notably under the brushes of young retiree Bruno Décamps.
This artist, who has been a Friend of Hom.arts from the outset (musician, singer, actor, dancer, figurine creator, stage director...) is used to working with figurines 10cm high and even less.
Here, he has succeeded in restoring the facial expression of this "figurine" over a metre high!

Berck sur mer is one of the few towns in France to have a marine fusilier as its war memorial.

The statue is the work of French sculptor Aristide Croisy (1840-1899).

This memorial to the Berckois who died in the 1870-1871 war was erected by subscription on the initiative of the Souvenir Français, and inaugurated on August 24, 1913.

According to the municipal archives, it is an exact copy of one of the figures at the base of the monument inaugurated in 1885 in Le Mans, dedicated to General Chanzy, commander of the Second Army of the Loire.
The same statue exists in Quimper, Brittany.

There, he also wanted to symbolize the heroism of the sailors of Admiral Ronarc'h, born in Quimper in 1865, who defended Dixmude on the Belgian front in September-October 1914.
