In 1715, Prince Stanislaw Potocki gave a plot of land in Lviv to the Jesuits, who founded the first industrial brewery.
After the dissolution of the order at the end of the 18th century, the brewery passed into private hands, and over time it was transformed into a joint-stock company.
In 1964, the brewery was nationalized. In 1993, it was privatized and transformed into a joint-stock company. The brewery currently belongs to the international concern Carlsberg.
