While the functions of stock trading was established back in 1930 by Singapore, it was re-registered in 1937 as 'Stockbrokers' Association of Malaya', but didn't trade in public shares. The Malayan Stock Exchange was formed in 1960 for public shares in conjunction with Singapore, under the MSSE (Malaysian and Singapore Stock Exchange.) It become the KLSEB (Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange Board) in 1973, and finally the Bursa Malaysia in 2004. The multi-storey neo-Classical was officially opened 13 July 1997.
