In the old courthouse building, there is this very large coat of arms in relief, on its façade. The building is gothic and is being restored to give it another use.

"Arms of the dynasty of Charles III of Spain , with collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece and Collar Grand Cross of the Order of Saint Charles: Partitioned in one and cut in two: I: In a gold field, four poles of gules, which is from modern Aragon, part of Sicily that it brings, chief and tip of gold and four batons of gules, flanks of silver and an eagle of sable, crowned, of gold, beaked and membered in gules. II: In a gules field, a façade, of silver, part of modern Burgundy that it brings, of azure, sown with fleurs-de-lis of gold and a border composed of silver and gules. III: In a gold field, six fleurs-de-lis of azure, one, two, two, one, which is from the Farnese or Duchy of Parma. IV: In a gold field, five roels or balls of gules which is from the Medici, and a tortillo of azure in chief, charged with three gold fleurs-de-lis of gold, which is from the Duchy of Tuscany. V: Banded of gold and azure with a border of gules, which is from ancient Burgundy. VI: In a sable field, a lion of gold, crowned of the same, lampasado and armed with gules, which is from Flanders. Seated at the base, of gold and a sable lion, armed and lampasado with gules, which is from Flanders, part of the Tyrol that charges, in silver an eagle of gules, crowned, beaked and limbed of gold, the breast charged with a crescent trefoil of the same.
Above all, a quartered shield in a cross: 1st and 4th gules and a castle of gold, crenellated with three battlements, masonry of sable and cleared of azure, which is from Castile; 2nd and 3rd silver and a lion of gules, crowned with gold, lampasado and armed with the same which is from León, inset at the base of Granada, which has silver, a natural pomegranate, split in gules, carved and leafed with two leaves of sinople.

Above all of all, an oval escutcheon azure with three fleurs-de-lis or and gules border, which is of the House of Borbón-Anjou.

A shield topped with a royal crown, and around it, the collar of the Golden Fleece and that of the Order of Charles III.

These arms have been adopted by the municipality of La Carolina (Jaén) , which takes its name from the king, when it was designated the administrative center of the New Settlements of Sierra Morena in 1767.
