"The hermitage, surrounded by leafy carob trees, pines and cypresses that give off a delicious aroma, shines from the top of the hill; and through the glass of its pointed windows, the brilliant solar rays filter, giving off sparks of gold and dazzling the view of the visitors.

In the front part, the building is made up of reddish bricks, without any ornament, ending in a stone cross and a flower pot at each end of the cornice; In the center there is a niche that gives light to the choir with the plaster image of the Virgin of the Castle, and below the inscription: “Our Lady of the Castle, year 1902”, which remembers the reform carried out by Dr. Vicente Delgado Pelardo, Priest who was from the parish church of Chiva, with the proceeds of donations collected for this purpose and by personal service.

Inside it belongs to the Tuscan order, in the shape of a Latin cross, with a semicircular vault and eleven windows, of which only four give light, and the rest are figurative; It consists of four arcades or chapels, with no bottom in its walls, a dome without lights and columns on both sides, with yellow plateresque decorations and plainly painted.
At the end of the temple and at the top, is the choir and the organ; two holy water fonts and two doors that give access to the hermit's house and the bell tower which contains two treble bells.

The main altar is of estimable and very ancient merit; The front is covered with a layer of gold, Churrigueresque style, with ornaments; It belongs to the composite order, it consists of two bodies with pilasters; One contains the image of Saint Michael, and on its sides, that of Saint Joseph and an angel; and the other, with a niche in the center, where the Virgin of the Castle has her throne, and San Joaquín and Santa Ana on the sides."
