EN: This wayside cross stands at a junction on the edge of a commercial district in the south of Birmenstorf.
The cross has various reliefs that I was unable to interpret. According to the website of the Aargau Department for Heritage Monuments, these are the stigmata of Christ in the form of hands, feet, heart and crown of thorns. Above the center of the cross is INRI and at the base the year 1832 and the initials H Z.
DE: Dieses Wegkreuz steht an einer Abzweigung am Rand eines Gewerbequartiers im Süden von Birmenstorf.
Das Kreuz hat verschiedene Reliefs, die ich nicht deuten konnte. Laut der Website der Aargauischen Denkmalpflege sind es die Wundmale Christi in Form von Händen, Füssen, Herz und Dornenkrone. Über der Kreuzmitte steht INRI und am Fuss das Jahr 1832 und die Initialen H Z.
