This marker was commemorating the Santa Fe Trail was placed by Daughters of American Revolution and the State of Missouri in 1909. The Santa Fe Trail was located a few miles north of Marshall. This is one of a series granite markers placed by the D.A.R. and the State of Missouri in communities the Santa Fe Trail placed through or near.
