Store & Hotel Site

In 1825, Joseph Appleton sold needed merchandise at his store here, including Medford Rum, which cost 3 cents per glass with sugar; 2 cents without. Hotel Appleton House opened on this site in 1877, renamed The Leffingwell. It burned in 1908.
