With the Ansonia, architects Esenwein & Johnson returned to using color-rich glazed terra cotta, as in their Calumet Building on Chippewa Street, this time in hues of ivory and green. The repeated art nouveau style design consists of the compound leaves of the horse chestnut tree. Completed in 1906, this two-story gem is capped with a rounded cornice featuring an enlarged leaf motif topped with a flat course of smaller tiles. A cool bullseye window is located over the Ansonia sign on the front of the building.

Currently, the Ansonia is home to several offices and community service businesses.
