Most people have heard of the Trail of Tears, but Fort Payne has faded into history. Today, only the chimney exists. It rises eerily out of an overgrown, weed infested lot surrounded by No Trespassing signs. Only a zoom lens can capture the view of the chimney through a break in the foliage.
