This is a nice long section of Ice Age Trail in southern Waupaca/Portage counties. Total trail distance (without hiking on a public road!) is approximately 12 miles. It runs from Frost Valley Road to south of 2nd Avenue. It includes some wide open prairie and winding, narrow hilly sections. There are a couple of parking/trailhead areas-State Highway 54 and Stratton Lake Road- and options of parking where the trail crosses a road. The trail goes through Hartman Creek State Park and Emmons Creek Wildlife area.
