Memorial to US Marine Colonel K. H. Shelly on Hamahiga island.
Monument dedicated to memory of COL K. H. Shelly, who, upon becoming despondent over the loss of his men in Viet Nam took his own life in 1968. Monument erected by the wives of his officers.
Monument next to a small children's park, has restroom facilities and across street from fine little French-style Mom-and-Pop cafe.
Excellent view.
