This resort is located near the Crystal Mountain Ski Area on Chinook Pass between mile markers 55 and 56. It's about a 1.5 hour drive to the resort from either Tacoma or Seattle.

Alta Resort offers two types of accomodations. Most of their rooms are available in the 3 chalets. Each chalet has 6 rooms, some of them with lofted bedrooms. The other option is the newly constructed honeymoon cabin, built in the log cabin style. All rooms have access to the pool and hot tub, and there is also a gift shop and activity area, softball field, and horseshoe pits.

Nearby you have access to skiing or mountain biking at Crystal Mountain, hiking in Mt. Rainier National Park or on Chinook Pass, or the Interpretive forest, Federation Forest State Park.
