For 75 years the Pittsburgh Steelers have been among the most revered sports teams in not only Western PA but in the world. The 1970's marked their greatest decade during which they won 4 of their 5 Super Bowl Championships. Heinz Field has been home to the Steelers for the past 6 seasons and replaced Three Rivers Stadium which sat right next to Heinz Field on what is now the parking lot.
In it's brief history Heinz Field has played host to two AFC Championship games. The Steelers lost both of them to the New England Patriots.
My first trip to Heinz Field was a Monday night football game between the Steelers and the Indianapolis Colts. The Steelers won the game 28-10. I have been to two other regular season games, both against the Cleveland Browns and the Steelers have won one and lost one. I have attended one pre-season game at Heinz Field.
Guided tours of the stadium are available, see the Steelers website for more info.
