Sixes Mill - Cherokee Co., GA - Trail of Tears on Waymarking.com

Sixes Mill: Site of an early Cherokee settlement and later a gold mine in the early 1830’s. This was also a military removal encampment for the Georgia Militia during the "Trail of Tears" in 1838. The current mill in this area, called by many names, was rebuilt in 1878 and 1880. West of I-575 on Sixes Rd. [Source Cherokee Points of Interest]

Note: The mill is located in a fenced area with "No Trespassing" signs. I found a place to park and walked along the road staying on the public right of way to take these photos. Sixes road is rather busy so I would not recommend this approach for young children.
