Beautiful stand of large ponderosa pines in a desert setting. Developed portion of park is located along the old alignment of U.S. Hwy. 395. Coordinates are at north end of old alignment. Secondary coordinates are at south end of old alignment. The property for this state park was donated by S.B. and Mattie Chandler in July 1929. The Chandler’s were one of the earliest settlers in the area and one of the largest landowners.
