Name Meaning: Safeco is a financial company based in Seattle.

A friend of mine with his son and me took a tour of Safeco Field, while I was visiting (I'm from Boston). It was a very thorough tour, taking us through many parts of the ballpark, including the stadium seating area, function rooms, the locker room, press area, and the visiting team dugout.

At the time, preperations were being made for a Microsoft function. The diamond was covered and framework for lights and speakers were being set up. The roof was moved while we were there.

The geocoordinates are centered from an open deck off the left field. There is a gate at that location. To get on the tour, we entered through the souvenier shop along First Avenue.

Nearby is Quest Field, the football stadium for the Seattle Seahawks. Either at or near this location was the Kingdome, which was the previous home for both the baseball and football teams.

The Seattle Mariners web site (see below) has a thorough set of pages about the ballpark itself.

It is certainly a beautiful field and worth listing here!
