Oceano train station - Oceano California - Train Stations/Depots on Waymarking.com

This Southern Pacific Railroad Station was the center of the most of the commercial and transportation activities in South San Luis Obispo country from 1904 until the 1950's Retired from service in 1973. It has been moved 400 yards north of the original site and is being restored by volunteer efforts for its new role as a community center.

I have lived in the area for 22 years, and have driven by this station nearly every day. The restoration is going very well, and the community support has been very good.

There are two railroad cars in the back of the the station. It is still located near the working north south train line. The new station in Grover Beach handles all the Amtrak passengers.
