2007 is the 20th year for this display. It has grown to encompass 100,000+ bulbs in displays on the street and on buildings along 1st Ave.
The Festival runs from end of November to about the middle of January every year and this year needed about 1000 hours from volunteers to set up. The festival starts with a parade after Santa pulls the switch to light up all the displays. Around 15,000 people showed up this year for the parade.
The community has gotten behind the festival and there are some fine displays now at homes through out Ladysmith. Although my pictures of the display on 1st Ave. are a bit on the poor side, it's well worth the trip to experience what this little town on the 49th parallel started 20 years ago.
