This was a surprise find while logging the historic Duncan Tavern in Paris and the awesome eagle gate next to it. The Tavern dates back to 1788 - four years before Kentucky became a state.

The sign shows direction to Zanesville (OH), Maysville (KY), Lexington (KY), Nashville (TN) and Florence (KY). At that time I am sure there was only one main road in any direction and you would know when you hit those cities.

Located on the gate post adjacent to the Duncan Tavern, which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
