Ambrosius Eg

Nær Valdemar Slot står det 400-årige egetræ Ambrosius Egen. Det er et gigantisk træ , 20 m højt og 7,3 i omkreds. Det er opkaldt efter den danske forfatter Ambrosius Stub. Det forlyder at han ofte sad under træet mens han læste og skrev.

En udboring på træet i 1997 fastslog træets alder, men også at det er i en noget dårlig forfatning.
Selve det indre er meget medtaget af råd, hvilket bl.a.kan ses flere steder ved roden. I kronen er der endvidere svampelegemer. Skaderne er sikkert forårsaget af, at store grene er knækket af. Vand har derfor kunnet trænge ind og give råd.

Ambrosius Oak

Close to the Valdemar Castle is the 400 year old "Ambrosius Oak", a giant of a tree, 20 m high and grith is 7,3 m. It is named after the danish poet Ambrosius Stub. He often sat under this tree while he was writing and reading.
