The Danada Forest Preserve Trail starts at the DuPage County Forest Preserve Offices in Wheaton, IL. The trail goes West to Herrick Lake. The trail is crushed gravel, mostly flat; it goes through praire lands and stands of old trees. The trail is shared with horses.

Near the trail head is a large stand of trees surrounding a wets land area. There's about 90 Great Blue Heron nests in the trees. This rookery is very unique in the Dupage County area.
