Muir Beach - Muir, California - Nude Beaches on Waymarking.com

The northern portion of Golden Gate National Recreation Area's Muir Beach has been traditionally clothing-optional. At high tide one has to scramble over rocks to get to the area, at low tide, you can walk across the sand. The beach is curved so that the nude portion faces away from the current, so one can swim somewhat sheltered from the waves--that is if you can brave the cold Pacific water!
In some years the park rangers have issued tickets for nudity, so check with other sun bathers to see what the political atmosphere is like.
