This Nike Missile Site is part of Golden Gate National Recreational Area. It has been turned into a Nike base museum and is being restored. It is the only restored site in the United States.

You can visit SF-88 during the week, Wednesday through Friday, 12:30 to 3:30. On the first Saturday of every month they hold an open house, where docents—some of them Nike veterans—tell stories about real life experience at Nike missile sites. I recommend going to the open house, we were able to ride the missile elevator down into the pit where the missiles were stored and they activated the missile elevation mechanism (see picture) to erect the missile into firing position.
