Flaming Geyser is a starting put-in point for professionals and amateur rafters alike. Start at the State Park and raft your way through the unpredictable Green River Gorge.

Amateurs should know, this river changes from dangerously rapid to too shallow to raft depending on when it has last rained. It is known to have many snags that can be dangerous to those who don't know the river. I have rafted it many times over the years but always wait until late July/Early August. Although you'll have to walk through parts, it's much safer. Professional groups tend to run the river in the Spring though, when the rapids are class IV.

For those of you who want a professional to help out the River Rider group operates raft trips on the Green River out of Flaming Geyser state park. Runs with River Riders, Inc cost between $55 and $70 depending on the river you are running.
