"Then he went on till he came to the House of the Interpreter..."
The Interpreters House is thought to have been the rectory where Pastor John Gifford lived. It is still standing today and is the headquarters of the county's St John's Ambulance Service.
The vicar St John's Church, Bedford was one John Gifford who was a major influence on the young Bunyan and lived in the rectory next to the church.
