A sign for the church says the United Methodist Church was established in 1852. According to the Find A Grave website (visit link), the church itself was actually built in 1899 by James Porter Smith, who is buried in the adjacent cemetery. The church is located a few miles northeast of Williston and a few miles southwest of Gainesville.
