Built in 1836, this church is the oldest known Methodist Church in Wayne County. It is located on Butler Center Road near the oldest sawmill in Wayne County to still be in operation. Historical records state that the church was constructed from lumber from this mill. Behind the church is the Butler Center Community Cemetery, the only cemetery in the Butler Center area. This Church is also on the list of Historic United Methodist Sites as #402. This church no longer holds services here as the church has been turned into a museum and is operated by the Butler Historical Preservation Society.
