Located beside the lighthouse-keepers house on an Island, in Georgian Bay, as part of the Niagara Escarpment continuing up to Manitoulin and farther north. Flowerpot Island is part of "Fathoms Five National Marine Park"

Flowerpot Island, where the pad is located, is only accessible by coastguard vessel, by tourist boat or by your own boat. During the calm summer one could even kayak to the Island as it is only about 6 kms from Tobermory.
The pad doesn't seem to be much in use except maybe for emergencies in case of visitors or hikers to the Island.

What facilities are available to passengers?: Open composting "Loo" and water when lighthouse volunteers are on duty.
