This piece was designed by Brade Rude and was installed in 1998. Rule installed the rubbing plate on the piece to allow people to see and feel the art. The wheels on the cart are all different and represent different types of wheels from around the world. The four wheels are: a Middle Eastern plank construction, a classic American wagon wheel, a Stone Age wheel, and a modern tractor tire and wheel.

Rude was born in Montanna and has lived in Walla Walla, WA for most of his life. His Grandfather was an artist as well, and as a child Rude spent time in his Folk Art Studio. His works tend to be of animals. He works extensively with metals and has also been a Patina Technologist. He has other works of art in the zoo as well.

This piece is located in the family farm area of the Woodland Park Zoo. Parents with small children should note that the petting zoo area of the family farm is currently closed for the season. I heard lots of disappointed children discussing this fact with their parents while I was looking for this piece.

Zoo hours and admission fees vary. For the current info, please see their website (visit link) Be sure to check out all the other art and waymarks while you are here too. There is even a Whereigo cartridge that takes you through most of the zoo.
