The station is still in its original location, adjacent to the main line of the Union Pacific Railroad. The line was originally constructed by the Central Pacific Railroad. The Central Pacific was purchased by the Southern Pacific Railroad, who was in turn purchased by the Union Pacific.

The Madera Chamber of Commerce acquired the building and has restored it for use as their headquarters, opening in March 2002. The track side of the station has been disconnected by fence, shrubbery and trees.
