Ralph Heisler and Worth Johnson were the first two men from Largo killed in World War I and the Heisler-Johnson American Legion Post was named for them.
Worth Edward Johnson, born September 12, 1901, listed in the United States Army on April 12, 1917 and served as company bugler. While on duty in France, he was wounded during the heavy shelling. He died on October 9, 1918.
