Het monument staat in het Walkartpark, niet ver van een monument ter nagedachtenis van de gevallenen in Indië in de periode 1945 - 1950.

The Monument is placed in the Walkartpark in Zeist, not far from a monument remembering those fallen during the policing actions in Indonesia during 1945-1950.
The monument consists of a nude male holding a flag and standing on a pedestal with the start and end years of WWII (insofar as The Netherlands were concerned): 1940-1945 and two arched walls with the following text:
THEY GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR THE FREEDOM AND FOR THE FUTURE OF OUR CHILDREN
