Ted's Hot Dogs was established in Buffalo back around 1927 by Greek immigrant Theodore Spiro Liaros. He operated a small hot dog stand on Buffalo's west side for about 20 years, when he opened a second location. Throughout the years, more locations were added in the city, including one in Tempe. The Tempe location is operated by Ted's son Spiro and is identical to one of the many back in Buffalo.

They serve Sahlen's hot dogs, made in Buffalo. They have Aunt Rosie's Loganberry drink, made in Buffalo. There are copies of The Buffalo News on display. They sell Weber's horseradish mustard, made in Buffalo. Inside the dining area are pennants for every college sports team in the Buffalo area, including the smaller division 3 schools. Several pictures of downtown Buffalo are on display.

Ted's makes their own onion rings which are never frozen. Another special treat are their old-fashioned milkshakes and homemade hot sauce. They also serve bratwurst, burgers, fries, Italian and Polish sausage, and chicken sandwiches.

In addition, this Ted's has won numerous awards for best hot dogs in Phoenix, and those are on display. If you didn't know any better, you'd swear you were eating a hot dog in Buffalo. For this native Buffalonian, it was a pure treat and pleasure to eat at this home away from home.
