A 2 meter high stone and mortar monument with a bronze plaque on a remote dirt road in the beautiful Hog Canyon in the rugged deep southwest of New Mexico; deep southeast of Arizona.

The plaque is dated 1933 and is dedicated to the Geronimo Trail road that passes through here. The road was a joint project between Cochise County and The US Forest Service. See pictures for more detail. Geronimo surrendered a short ways to the northwest of here, in Skeleton Canyon. We chose to place this waymark as a New Mexico marker since we have several in Arizona but none in NM. We found the monument while Geocaching.
